FOSS4G:UK Local 2023
Around 250 people across eight venues in the UK and Ireland, linked by shared keynotes.
A distributed one-day conference: eight local venues running their own programmes, joined together for shared keynotes and panels. Around 250 people took part, and the event raised roughly £5,000 for OSGeo:UK.
Venues were the University of Glasgow, Fraser House Hub in Lancaster, the British Geological Survey at Keyworth, Maynooth University in Ireland, Geovation in London, the UWTSD IQ Campus in Swansea, the Willis Museum in Basingstoke, and the Engine Shed in Bristol.
Keynotes came from Helen McKenzie (CARTO) on “Getting People Excited about Geo!” and Ujaval Gandhi (Spatial Thoughts) on “Building a Career with Open-Source Technologies”, alongside a panel marking ten years since FOSS4G 2013 in Nottingham. Sessions were recorded and are on the FOSS4G:UK YouTube channel.
Thanks to our national sponsors Addresscloud, the British Geological Survey and Astun Technology, to the local sponsors at each venue, and to everyone who hosted, spoke and attended.
